My Last Day as a Smoker
After I woke up today, I realized almost immediately that today is my last day as a smoker. It really scared me, and I started having feelings of remorse. Stopping smoking feels almost like saying goodbye to a very good friend or ending an relationship. I had to motivate myself by thinking positive thoughts and remembering my reasons for quitting smoking. It helped a little bit, but I still had to keep my mind busy and prevent myself from panicking.
Thus, I decided to keep myself busy by washing some laundry and ironing my shirts. One great side effect of stopping smoking is that I am usually ready to do a lot of house chores. It is a great way to prevent myself from thinking about smoking cigarettes. However, one cannot clean forever, and eventually I had nothing else to do. I sat down to my couch and started wondering my next move.
When I was sitting on my couch, I decided to quit smoking without using any nicotine replacement products. I had been wondering about this for a few days, but I just did not have the courage to made the actual decision. I have been using nicotine replacement products in the past, when I have been trying to quit smoking. I found them extremely useful, but I ended up getting addicted to them. I don’t want to end up in to the same situation again. That is why I decided to go cold turkey.
After that decision, it was clear to me that I have to make some preparations for tomorrow. First, I need to get a lot of chewing gum. Second, I have to create a list of things, which I am going to get done tomorrow. Keeping myself busy should help me to get through my first day as a nonsmoker. Third, I will have to get rid of all things, which reminds me of smoking.
It is time to put my plan in to action. Wish me luck.

Exactly why is the header spanning the navigation menu? Shouldn’t it be at the top?

Are you using IE 6? I noticed that the layout of this page seems to be broken when I tried to browse it with IE6. I will have to try to figure out what is causing it.
